Basic Requirements Of Servo Drive

Servo drive (servo drives), also known as the "servo controller" or "servo amplifier", is a controller used to control the servo motor. Its role is similar to the role of the inverter in the AC motor which is a part of the servo system and mainly used in high-precision positioning system. It is high-end products of the transmission technology which control the servo motor to achieve high-precision transmission system positioning generally through the ways of position, speed and torque.

1, The requirements of the servo feed system

(2), High positioning accuracy

(3), Has sufficient transmission rigidity and high speed stability

(4), Fast response with no overshoot

In order to ensure the productivity and processing quality, it not only require a higher positioning accuracy, but also requires a good fast response characteristics. It is required to track the signal response fast. For the NC system need large acceleration in the start and brake to shorten the transition time of the feed system and reduce the contour transition error.

(5), Low-speed large torque, overload capacity

In general, with more than 1.5 times overload capacity in a few minutes or even half an hour, the servo drive can be overloaded 4 to 6 times without damage in a short time.

(6), High reliability

It requires the feed drive system of the CNC machine tool   has high reliability, good job stability, strong temperature, humidity, vibration and other environmental adaptability and a strong anti-interference ability.

2, The requirements of the servo motor

(1), Motor can run smoothly from the lowest speed to the most high-speed. The torque ripple is small. Especially at low speed such as 0.1r / min or lower speed, there is a smooth speed without crawling.
(2), The motor should have a large long-term overload capacity to meet the requirements of low-speed high-torque. General requirements of the DC servo motor overload 4 to 6 times without damage in a few minutes.
(3), In order to meet the requirements of rapid response, the motor should has a small moment of inertia and large locked rotor torque with the smallest possible time constant and starting voltage.
(4), The motor should be able to withstand frequent Kai, braking and reverse.
